Formed over the summer of 2005, Lansdale Station is a "fundamental pleasure group", combining high energy stage interaction with finely crafted songs from the heart. Blending country blues with Bay Area psychedelia, this award winning group reminds us of what made the San Francisco Sound so special to begin with.

Voted #7 in Jambase's Top 10 Albums of 2009 an a NME video award and more, Lansdale Station continues to be lauded by Nationwide and Bay Area top critics and DJ's. The group's dead solid songwriting and crisp musicianship is highlighted by the character filled voices of Judge & Lauren Murphy along with red hot guitar work by multi-instrumentalist, Dave Zirbel (pedal steel/lead guitar/lap steel).

Compared to the Jefferson Airplane, Buddy & Julie Miller, and Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, Lansdale Station captures the heart and soul of their audiences. This group pulled together with powerful support over 2010 & 2011, when lead vocalist, Judge Murphy was diagnosed with liver cancer , awaiting a transplant.

That fall, The Judge received his miraculous 'gift of life' & is recovering well. The band looks to the future with more love of life & music than ever before. Lansdale Station will release their 2nd 'official' and highly anticipated Album in 2012. Catch it now, because "The likes of this talent may never pass this way again."(Don Aters)

BIO:
ZERO, a psychedelic rock ensemble formed by Steve Kimock and Greg Anton in 1984, is best known for its free flowing jazz-rock-electric sound. For the next two decades the project would feature some of the best talent on the Bay Area circuit including legendary guitarist John Cipollina, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Vega, Pete Sears, Liam Hanrahan, Chip Roland, and many more. In 1991 Zero’s collaboration with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter & the addition of lead vocalist Judge Murphy, brought a new dimension to the ZERO sound.

ZERO released eight highly-acclaimed albums, hundreds of live recordings, and occasionally appear out of nowhere in select continental cities. The band reunited in 2008 to honor the memory of saxophonist Martin Fierro, who passed away earlier that year, leaving a great hole in the musical community.

In March of 2011, ZERO commemorated their most celebrated album to date, ‘Chance in a Million’, that was recorded live at The Great American Music Hall. The show would benefit their brother & vocalist, Judge Murphy, who was battling cancer, awaiting organ transplant. Zero finished out the summer of 2011 and shortly after, Judge Murphy received his gift of life,
is cancer free & recovering well from his organ transplant. This tenacious band now looks to the future in celebration, bringing their legendary jazz-rock-electric vibe.

A Chance in a Million - BAY AREA ICONIC BAND ZERO REUNITES TO BENEFIT A BROTHER - January 31, 2011

ZERO Returns to the Great American Music Hall

For the first time in nearly 20 years, ZERO returns to the Great American Music Hall: March 4th and 5th. Almost two decades ago, the quintessential Bay Area band recorded 'Chance in a Million', their most successful album to date, featuring songs penned by Grateful Dead lyricist, Robert Hunter. The band reunites to commemorate the music and to benefit band mate, Judge Murphy, who is battling liver cancer, awaiting transplant.

Having just released their first Cd in October 2009, the Hold Outs have
been re-inventing true "Rock" since 2006. If you’ve ever been to one of
their live shows, it’s easy to see why this San Francisco band was voted
this year's “ Best Up-and-Coming Local Rock Band” by Space Cowboy of the Pacific Sun. Featuring the songwriting team of Mark Antonio (guitar /
vocals) and Bart Hacker(guitar/vocals) with the powerful rhythm section of Kalyan Godden (bass) & Ben Trumbo(drums), the Hold Outs bring it all, with compositions ranging from light-hearted & slightly risqué, to dark and emotional. Pulling from influences like The Beatles, The Cars, and classic rock, The Hold Outs play their hearts out, rocking the soulful harmonies of boy-meets-girl, girl-disses-boy, boy- still- loves-girl-and -is -all-torn-up-about -it. Shredding guitar riffs, tight vocal harmonies, and an amazing energy that spills into the crowd, The Hold Outs always pack the dance floor; playing their own original tunes, as well as some of your old favorites with a new twist. So come party with The Hold Outs this New
Year’s Eve, it’s sure to be an unforgettable night of rock, and an excellent start to the new decade!

SUNDAY , DEC 6TH - Guitar Legend DICK DALE and LANSDALE STATION to play 19 Broadway Nite Club - November 23, 2009

Photobucket
EARLY SHOW
http://www.dickdale.com
Photobucket
On Sunday, December 6th, Dick Dale, the inventor of surf music, will blow
the roof off Fairfax's 19 Broadway Nite Club. His pivotal relationship
with Leo Fender resulted in the creation of the line of Fender Amps that
Guitar God's still play today; The Fender Dual-Showman using JBL speakers and the Hot Rod Twin Reverb. This, as well as the breakneck speed of his single-note staccato tremolo picking technique is unrivaled, crowning Dale as 'The Father of all Power Players'. He is also credited with introducing guitar reverb, giving the guitar a "wet" sound, a staple of surf music. In 1961, with the release of his first single, "Let's Go Trippin'," Dick Dale created an entire genre(surf music), as well as one of the most unique and influential guitar styles in rock & roll history. Other chart toppers, "Jungle Fever," "Miserlou," and "Surf Beat," sold like hotcakes, earning Dale a contract with Capitol Records and national distribution for
Surfer's Choice. Dale was featured in Life magazine in 1963, leading to
appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and the Frankie/Annette film 'Beach
Party'. When Dick Dale met Leo Fender, he gave Dick his new prototype, The Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar. The minute Dale picked up the guitar, Leo Fender broke into uncontrolled laughter and disbelief, watching Dale play a right handed guitar upside down and backwards, creating a sound never heard before. In 1986, Dale was featured on the movie sound track, 'Back to the Beach' with he and Stevie Ray Vaughan exchanging licks to the Chantays' surf staple "Pipeline". It was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental. In 1994, the opening track of Quentin Tarantino's film, Pulp Fiction, was Mr. Dale's "Misirlou Twist", subsequently reintroducing his innovative style to a new audience. "Misirlou Twist" became synonymous with Pulp Fiction's ultra-hip sense of style, and was soon licensed in countless commercials. A proud cancer survivor, Dick Dale's work for the past decade has been remarkably consistent. As Dale himself would say:
Pray for surf!

-"Lauren & Judge Murphy w/ Lansdale Station are one of the best unsigned bands in the Bay Area" ......... Ronn Owens KGO Radio

Named after a demolished train station in Marin County, Ca., Lansdale
Station formed over the summer of 2005, when a group of Legendary Players came together to record Lauren Murphy's album, "Magnolia Heart". The result was a powerful concoction melding 'Southern Roots with the new San Francisco sound". Now in their 4th year, momentum, versatility, and reputation has earned Lansdale Station widespread radio support and coveted Main Stage slots on the Festival Circuit and at Destination Venues. Their eponymous Cd was released in the fall of 2008 to rave local, regional, & nationwide reviews from Notable Critics. Coming from the Jazz/Rock/Electric band, ZERO, lead vocalist, Judge Murphy, teamed up with his wife, New Orleans composer, vocalist, guitarist, & dancer, Lauren Murphy (Houselevelers/Delphinium Blue/Zero). The two have a symbiotic stage presence with a power that charms. Lansdale Station's touring band is Lauren Murphy (vocals/guitar), Judge Murphy (vocals), Dave Zirbel (MOTHER TRUCKERS/COMMANDER CODY) on lead guitar, pedal steel, & lap steel, Rayner Brock (MUNDAI OWENS/ KING PERKOFF) on bass, and Jake Baker (NEW RISING SONS) on drums. Their shows have fast become a favorite of audiences , well known for their mighty harmony vocals & stage chemistry. Described by many as 'down home' performers, Lansdale Station's relationship with their audience is intimate interactive and spicy.

On Saturday, November 21st, the Legendary "Mose Allison Trio", featuring PETE MAGADINI on DRUMS and BILL DOUGLAS on BASS, graces 19 Broadway in Fairfax, with two rare intimate engagements. Born in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi in 1927, Mose Allison has been called "the William Faulkner of Jazz". Mr. Allison's music has influenced many blues and rock artists, including The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, John Mayall, J. J. Cale and The Who, who made "Young Man Blues" a staple of their live performances. Marin County hit makers Van Morrison, Bonnie Rait, and Blue Cheer have also recorded his songs. He is most noted for "Seventh Son" & "V-8 Ford Blues". Inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2006, Mr. Allison continues to make his indelible mark on music history. Since 1957, Mose has been making records, and was recently nominated for a Grammy Award for one of his two newest recordings, 'Mose Chronicles, Live in London, Vol. I' on Blue Note Records. As one writer recently said: “Mose is now at the peak of his performing career. Although maybe this last statement is not quite true as he seems to continue to improve on perfection.” Please join us in welcoming this living legend and his trio to Fairfax's 19 Broadway Nite Club.
